I started Ryan Baker Consulting in 2021 to help organizations improve how people and processes work together. With over 25 years of experience across higher education, hospitality, city government, and business operations, I’ve learned that the best results come from combining structure, clarity, and trust.
My career has taken me from managing teams of over forty people and large-scale events on Cal Poly’s campus to directing facility operations at Hotel San Luis Obispo. These roles taught me that clear systems matter, but so do the people who use them.
Teaching Experience Industry Management at Cal Poly in 2025 reminded me of how curiosity and connection drive progress across generations.
I bring a practical, people-centered approach to every project, whether it’s improving communication, developing staff, or refining workflows. My goal is to help organizations work smarter, not harder, and to create environments where people feel valued and capable.
